• North American Technologies Group Inc. subsidiary TieTek L.L.C. recently reached a milestone with its composite crosstie by surpassing the 1 million mark in sales. TieTek officials partially attribute the achievement to the environmentally friendly attributes of the tie, which is produced from recycled materials. To produce 3,300 ties, the company uses about 2 million plastic bottles, 9 million plastic bags and 10,000 scrap rubber tires, TieTek said.
• Rock-It Cargo L.L.C. has merged with Dietl International Services to increase its specialty logistics services. The merged companies will offer logistics services to the fine arts industry. Rock-It Cargo provides specialty logistics services to the rail industry for over-size dimensional loads.
• Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc. won a five-year contract from the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) to retain advertising rights for the public transit system. Clear Channel will handle advertising for up to 1,024 displays on trains and buses. SacRT’s annual ridership has steadily increased on its light-rail and bus systems over the past 10 years to more than 31 million, Clear Channel said.
• Anpath Group Inc. obtained a contract from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to provide EnviroTru® disinfectant and cleaner/deodorizer products, and electrostatic mobile spraying units. WMATA will use the products and equipment in stations, rail cars and other vehicles to disinfect and clean various surfaces, such as those on door handles, hand rails and fare card machines. EnviroTru is a multi-purpose disinfectant, sanitizer and deodorizing cleaner designed to kill numerous organisms.
