UTU-represented NICTD workers ratify six-year contract

On Dec. 22, Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) train and engine-service workers ratified a six-year United Transportation Union agreement.
NICTD and the union spent two years negotiating contract terms through a third party arbitrator assigned by the National Mediation Board.
The contract includes increased wages and benefits, no work rules, and a new pension plan and crew-consist agreement.
