SEPTA, UTU negotiate tentative pact
advertisement
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and United Transportation Union (UTU) Local 1594 recently reached a tentative agreement. On Nov. 27, the union will conduct a ratification vote.
The contract would boost wages 3 percent annually the next four years, and maintain health and welfare benefits, according to the UTU.
Local 1594 represents 325 SEPTA trolley, bus and Norristown high-speed line operators in SEPTA’s Suburban Division. Working without a contract since April 2004, the operators launched a strike Oct. 31 in conjunction with Transport Workers Union Local 234.
