The International Association of Sheet Metal, Air Rail and Transportation Workers — Transportation Division (SMART-TD) has ratified a new contract with Keolis Commuter Services, the operating partner of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. This is the 12th agreement of 14 between Keolis and the unions representing nearly 2,000 MBTA employees, said Keolis officials in a press release. The agreement is retroactive to July 2023. It will increase pay and sick time for conductors.

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen has reached a tentative agreement with the Union Railroad of Pittsburgh. If approved by members, the contact will run through July 2027 and provide a $500 signing bonus and general wage increases of 4% in 2025, 3.5% in 2026 and 3.5% in 2027. Members also will receive adjustments to personal leave protocols and an increased 401(k) match. Union Railroad is a short line switching railroad with 128 miles of track.
