advertisement
Iowa Northern Railway Co. train and engine-service employees recently elected to be represented by the United Transportation Union (UTU). The workers previously were unrepresented.
The union will begin to assess the employees' needs, negotiate their first agreement, and install and educate local representatives, the UTU said.
The 163-mile Iowa Northern operates track between Cedar Rapids and Manly, Iowa, and interchanges with Canadian National Railway Co., Union Pacific Railroad, the Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroad Corp., and Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway Co.
