Rail News: Labor
Canadian Pacific Railway recently reached a tentative three-year agreement with the CAW-TCA Canada governing about 2,600 locomotive and rail-car maintenance and repair workers.
Expiring Dec. 21, 2007, the contract would increase wages, and improve benefits and work rules. The parties aren't releasing contract details pending a ratification vote, which is expected to be completed in a few months.
The pact is the first agreement CPR and the CAW-TCA Canada have reached in 18 years without the help of a third party, union officials said in a prepared statement.
