CPKC receives arbitrator's ruling for new TCRC labor agreements

Canadian Pacific Kansas City on May 30 received an arbitrator's ruling establishing new collective bargaining agreements for the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) Train and Engine and the Rail Traffic Controllers divisions.
The new four-year agreements, as ruled by arbitrator William Kaplan, are the conclusion of the bargaining processes for CPKC and the Teamsters divisions, CPKC officials said in a press release. Kaplan issued his ruling after the completion of multiple rounds of mediation and ultimately the conclusion of the interest arbitration process.
Retroactive from Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2027, the new contracts include annual wage increases of 3%. The provisions outlined in the arbitrator's award do not require ratification.
The TCRC-T&E represents 3,200 locomotive engineers, conductors, train and yard workers across Canada; the TCRC-RCTC represents 80 traffic controllers in Canada.
