Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen (BLET) members have ratified a new three-year agreement with the Delaware & Hudson Railway, a subsidiary of CPKC, union officials announced in a press release.

The agreement extends from Aug. 1, 2024, through July 31, 2027. Workers will receive general wage increases of 4.5% for 2024, 4.0% for 2025 and 3.75% for 2026; there are no changes to work rules or health & welfare benefits.

“These increases provided compounded wage growth over the life of the agreement while maintaining the integrity of existing agreements and practices,” said BLET General Chairman Ben Martin.

Meanwhile, BLET representatives have reached a tentative six-year agreement with the Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp. that would cover approximately 250 locomotive engineers who work for Metra.

If ratified by the members, the agreement would establish updated compensation structures, work rules, seniority protections, assignment procedures, benefits, discipline standards and operational practices. Members will vote on the proposed agreement by June 19.
