Triple Crown marks 3 millionth truckload

Late last month, Triple Crown Services Co. moved its 3 millionth truckload — a trailer loaded for pressure-sensitive and self-adhesive product supplier Avery Dennison Corp., and destined for Gainesville, Ga.

A Norfolk Southern Corp. subsidiary, Triple Crown began operations in 1986, serving customers in Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and Atlanta. Since 1990, the has company expanded its network to include Kansas City, Mo., the Atlantic Coast, cities in Florida and Texas, and Toronto and Montreal.

"This is a significant milestone in Triple Crown’s short history," said Triple Crown President Jim Newton in a prepared statement. "The exceptional growth of our company is due to the loyalty of customers like Avery Dennison and the professional partnership developed between the two companies."

Last year, Triple Crown delivered more than 266,000 truckloads using a fleet of about 5,600 RoadRailer® trailers, which are designed for over-the-road and on-rail transportation.
