Trucking and intermodal services provider Swift Transportation recently was named a 2010 Provider of the Year for Target’s transportation division. Target also awarded six all-star awards to individual Swift team members for their “exemplary efforts to go above and beyond” transportation expectations, according to Target.

“Swift Transportation reliably met and exceeded Target’s capacity and consistency expectations throughout 2010,” Target officials said in a prepared statement. “Swift’s performance during Target’s peak season, both as a primary carrier and as a back-up when needed, was particularly appreciated.”

Target’s Provider of the Year award recognizes service providers that “consistently exhibit strong performance” throughout a given year, according to the retailer.
