IntermodeX is developing a transload and logistics facility at the Port of Prince Rupert in British Columbia to support global cargo owners, ocean carriers and forwarders. The port is directly connected to CN's rail network.
The LinX transload facility is anticipated to open in first-quarter 2027 and will span over 30 acres, IntermodeX officials said in a press release. The 100-door facility will provide transloading for import and export cargo between North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
LinX also will be the anchor tenant of the newly developed South Kaien Import Logistics Park, a joint venture between the port authority and Metlakatla Development Corp.
"It is imperative to offer customers robust logistics services including trucking, transloading, and rail as we increase our competitiveness and grow container volumes at the Port of Prince Rupert,” said Shaun Stevenson, president and CEO of the Prince Rupert Port Authority.
