Denver university's intermodal institute sets enrollment record for executive master's program

At the University of Denver’s Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI), the Class of 2006 for the Executive Master’s Program comprises 19 students — the program’s largest-ever class.

Students include transportation management professionals from various freight companies and passenger agencies, including CSX Intermodal, Hub Group Inc., OmniTRAX Inc., Pacer Stacktrain, Sound Transit and the Utah Transit Authority.

Graduates earn a master of science in intermodal transportation management. The six-quarter program includes an intermodal travel seminar to study freight and passenger transportation facilities and operations both abroad and overseas, such as those in Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Brussels and Vancouver, British Columbia. The next seminar will be held in March 2007 in Shanghai, China.

“We are extremely pleased to see this kind of growth in our academic program, [which] demonstrates the support ITI is receiving from major transportation companies that recognize the importance of educating the next generation of transportation leaders to meet the needs of our increasingly global economy,” said ITI Chairman and Pacer Stacktrain President Tom Finkbiner in a prepared statement.
