California high-speed rail agency unveils online vendor registry

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) has launched an online vendor registry aimed at providing a quick way to find business opportunities with the agency.

Known as ConnectHSR, the registry allows firms to add their name to a list of interested parties looking to participate in the project.

Companies will receive notifications of new procurements, invitations to events and workshops, and opportunities to connect and partner with other businesses, CHSRA officials said in a press release.

"I have heard from many people throughout the state who have been looking for a tool just like ConnectHSR to help them express their firms' interest in being part of this historic project and learn more about program opportunities," said CHSRA Small Business Advocate Alice Rodriguez.

To date, 327 certified small businesses are participating in the project, exceeding CHSRA's goal for 30 percent small business participation, agency officials said.

More than 119 miles of active construction is underway in California's Central Valley. Service between Silicon Valley and Central Valley is slated to start in 2025.
