The Federal Transit Administration has designated $20.6 billion in funding to support public transportation in fiscal-year 2026, detailed in apportionment tables for each eligible transit program.

The funding tables detail the federal funding that each state and urbanized area will receive. Formula grant programs allocate funding to states, urbanized areas and transit agencies based on formulas set by Congress, while the state governments and urbanized areas decide how much funding is provided to specific transit agencies and providers, said FTA officials in a press release.

The FY26 apportion funding tables reflect funding provided in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, which provides full-year spending authority, and close to $14.6 billion in formula funding allocated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, said FTA officials.

FY26 funding apportionment tables can be downloaded by state and by specific grant program here.
