CSX makes senior leadership changes

CSX Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Ward late last week announced several senior leadership changes, including the July 1 retirement of Lisa Mancini, the Class I's executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

The company is realigning its senior team to advance its vision for the workforce, service, productivity and technology of the future, CSX officials said in a press release.

Mancini joined CSX in 2003 and is a member of Ward's executive team. She is responsible for people functions, procurement and real estate.

Other leadership changes include:

• Cressie Brown, currently vice president of labor relations, will become senior vice president and chief administrative officer. Brown joined CSX in 1988 and has held leadership roles in critical operational and support functions, including technology, finance, service design and customer service prior to her most recent post.

• Kathleen Brandt, currently head of the company's information technology subsidiary, will become SVP and chief information officer. Brandt joined CSX in 1985 and rose through the IT organization. She has the skills to lead the company’s accelerating deployment of automation, analytics and systems, CSX officials said.

• Zachery Jones has been appointed vice president of labor relations to succeed Brown. Jones previously worked for the National Mediation Board and joined CSX in 2010. He most recently was AVP of employee services.

Brown and Brandt's new appointments will take effect July 1. Both will join the executive management team, reporting directly to Ward.

"These promotions underscore the importance of continuing to develop our highly skilled and committed employees, while accelerating CSX’s next-generation technologies and performance in safety, service and efficiency," Ward said.
