The village of South Jacksonville, Ill., and Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Commission recently announced that Bartlett Grain Co. will build a new grain-handling facility in the village near Interstate 72 and state highway 267.
Designed to store more than 2 million bushels of corn, soybeans and wheat, the facility will be served by Kansas City Southern Railway Co. The $20 million to $30 million facility is slated for completion in fall 2013.
Bartlett Grain plans to build a rail loop to accommodate 100-car trains. The company also will create truck access from highway 267.
