CPKC will soon begin serving a new gypsum wallboard manufacturing plant in Wheatland County, Alberta.
Slated to open before summer, CGC Inc.'s 220,000-square-foot plant will boost production of the company's sheetrock wallboard across western Canada, according to a CGC news release.
The company broke ground on the CA$210 million facility two years ago. The plant is located adjacent to the Class I's mainline through Wheatland County, providing CGC direct access to rail service for inbound bulk materials and the ability to reach more markets, CPKC officials said in a social media post.
The new plant is designed to be the company's most environmentally friendly and sustainable facility in its 120-year history, CGC officials said.
