Canadian Pacific Kansas City last week accepted delivery of its 100th Tier 4 Evolution Series diesel-electric locomotive from Wabtec Corp.
Unit No. CP 7549 is part of CPKC's multiyear, $650 million investment in American locomotive power. Built at Wabtec's plant in Fort Worth, Texas, many of the units already are in service to support the execution of CPKC's precision scheduled railroading operating model, CPKC officials said in a post on X.com.
In May, CPKC took delivery of its first of the new Tier 4 ET44AC locomotives. An additional 70 locomotives will be delivered in 2026, according to CPKC's website.
The units are part of the Class I's plan to provide more efficient and reliable rail service to its North American customers, CPKC officials say.
