Canadian Pacific Kansas City has named 80 shippers as recipients of its 2024 Safe Shipper Award, which recognizes leadership in safe hazardous materials transportation across North America.
The award honors customers that achieved incident-free movement of at least 500 carloads of hazardous materials (non-intermodal) on CPKC lines, with zero non-accidental releases during 2024. The distinction highlights the collaborative investments made in training, technology and process improvements that matter to every rail professional, CPKC officials said in a press release.
The award recipients span multiple sectors including chemicals, energy, agriculture and manufacturing. In 2024, for the second consecutive year, CPKC led Class Is with the lowest Federal Railroad Administration-reportable train accident frequency, CPKC officials said.
The record extends the legacy of its predecessor, Canadian Pacific, which held top industry safety marks for 17 straight years, they added. To view the list of award recipients, click here.
