CN today announced plans to invest C$600 million in Ontario projects as part of its 2025 capital investment program.
The funding will support track maintenance and infrastructure investments to ensure long-term growth and the safe movement of goods, said CN officials in a press release.
The C$600 million is part of the C$3.4 billion capital expenditures program announced last week, of which C$2.9 billion is allocated to CN's maintenance and strategic infrastructure initiatives across Canada and the United States.
"Our continued infrastructure investment in Ontario will help strengthen the resiliency, and efficiency of our network across the province. Our focus remains on providing exceptional service to our customers and supply chain partners, supporting strong economic growth for North America and across the communities where we operate," said Tracy Robinson, president and CEO of CN.
In 2024, CN spent C$528 million on track maintenance and infrastructure initiatives in Ontario, including over C$49 million to support construction of the Milton Logistics Hub, and over C$60 million with partner projects to advance a new loading fuel terminal at CN's MacMillan Yard.
