CN is supporting more than 300 shipper development projects across its North American network, reinforcing its role in strengthening supply chains and powering economic growth.
In 2025, CN helped bring more than 70 customer projects into service, representing over CA$2 billion in customer investment across its network. To date in 2026, CN has helped bring 30 shipper-led projects into service and is set to see through another 70 projects by the end of 2026 and into early 2027, CN officials said in a press release.
"Our customers are making significant investments because they have confidence in the strength of CN's network and our ability to grow alongside them,” said Sandra Ellis, CN’s VP of bulk, industrial and business development. “We've invested in the capacity, infrastructure and operating model needed to support new business while continuing to improve network fluidity. That allows us to move more traffic safely and efficiently while giving customers the confidence to invest, expand and bring new industrial projects online across North America.”
CN is investing about CA$2.8 billion for capital improvement projects in 2026; key projects include a new Zanardi Rapids Bridge at Port Prince Rupert and a double-track project in Glen Valley, British Columbia.
