CN set a new monthly record for grain movements across its network in June, transporting 2.67 million metric tons of grain from western Canada. The record surpasses the previous record for the month, set in June 2020, of 2.64 million metric tons.
This performance reflects continued strong customer demand, close collaboration across the grain supply chain and the railroad’s operational flexibility, CN officials said in a press release.
The Class I was able to maintain network fluidity despite heavy rainfall that affected parts of western Canada, working with customers to adjust shipping plans and move grain from available locations, CN officials said.
