Newton to head Cattron's North American rail services

Yesterday, Cattron Group International Inc. announced it appointed Lee Newton vice president of North American rail services. Reporting to Cattron Group President and Chief Executive Officer John Paul, Newton will be responsible for U.S. and Canadian field service, repairs, training and help desk operations.

Newton joined Cattron last year after the company acquired Canadian National Railway Co.’s Beltpack business, which included CANAC Remote Control Technologies Inc. (formerly Vectran Corp.). He previously managed Cattron’s Canadian rail service operations and Union Pacific Railroad’s field service operations.

"[Newton has] a broad range of rail-related experience spanning more than 30 years, including various foreign assignments," said Cattron officials in a prepared statement.

Cattron Group supplies radio frequency and industrial remote-control systems to the railroad, construction, shipyards, mining, aerospace, steel, military, agriculture, shipping, and material handling industries. The company's subsidiaries operate in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil and Europe.
