BNSF Railway is expanding upon its nearly decade-long partnership with Overhaul, a global leader in real-time risk monitoring and cargo security protection services.

The new agreement integrates the BNSF Police Department and its security technology with Overhaul's risk intelligence teams. Combining Overhaul's services with the scale, authority and unique law enforcement capabilities of BNSF PD will help identify risks earlier, improve coordination and support secure intermodal freight movement, BNSF officials said in a press release.

Overhaul maintains a 99.9% shipment protection rate for monitored freight, combining real-time visibility, verified intelligence and active risk management to help prevent cargo loss, they added. BNSF is Overhaul's exclusive railroad partner.

Overhaul continuously monitors intermodal shipments for signs of tampering, fraud and organized crime patterns. Verified and proprietary threat signals are sent directly to BNSF, enabling earlier intervention and more strategic response. BNSF's Resource Operations Call Center will work with Overhaul's Global Security Operations personnel to coordinate incident response between BNSF special agents and local, state and federal partners.

"Working with Overhaul’s verified intelligence advances our prevention-first approach to supply chain security," said Chief Special Agent and Assistant Vice President of BNSF Police Will Johnson. "Our teams have built a deep foundation of trust over the years, and this partnership strengthens our ability to take informed action and uphold rail as the most secure mode of freight transportation by land."
