On Tuesday, Railway Interchange 2013 organizers announced that exhibition sponsorship opportunities will be available for the first time at next year's combined exhibition and technical conference, which will be held Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2013, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Railway Interchange 2013's exhibition will showcase the latest technology and research by members of the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) and Railway Systems Suppliers Inc. (RSSI). The event also will feature technical presentations by members of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and Coordinated Mechanical Associations (CMA).

"The first Railway Interchange exhibition and conference in 2011 was the largest event of this type held in North America, with approximately 9,000 attendees and 600 exhibiting companies," said Michael Drudy, RSSI's executive director and secretary/treasurer, in a press release. "Offering sponsorships helps us defray the cost of the exhibition while giving companies greater visibility at this high-profile industry event."

Organizers are encouraging member companies to make a sponsorship part of their marketing plan for the event, said REMSA Executive Director David Soule, adding that sponsorship opportunities include events, banners and signage.

Conference registration will begin in January 2013 and hotel reservations will be available starting Jan. 1, organizers said. Preliminary agenda information and registration details will be released in the coming months, they added.
