Holland LP has acquired key products, technologies and intellectual property from U.K.-based ARR Rail Solutions Ltd., an innovator of weld restoration models. The acquisition bolsters Holland's existing welding portfolio with new automated technologies and additive manufacturing capabilities for defect remediation on special trackwork restoration, Holland officials said in a press release. Holland will integrate ARR Rail Solutions' technologies into Holland's global welding portfolio, enhancing offerings in mobile welding, automated rail repair and component restoration. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Marmon Holdings Inc. has appointed Laurie Stiles president of Railserve Inc. Stiles will lead Railserve's businesses and two other Marmon companies — Ameritrak and Powerhouse — and the more than 1,200 employees of the three companies. Stiles joined Marmon in 2021 and previously served as senior vice president of strategic initiatives for Marmon Railway and Repair Services, and VP of sales and marketing for Marmon On-Site Services, company officials said in a press release. She began her career in rail car fleet management for Norcal Gas and Shell Canada.
Stadler has received an order for 20 additional Citylink light-rail vehicles from the Utah Transit Authority, following an initial order of 20 vehicles last year. The vehicles are custom designed for UTA's TRAX service in Salt Lake City and the surrounding communities, and will be manufactured at the Stadler Salt Lake City facility. The original $129 million contract, partially funded by a Federal Transit Administration grant, called for 20 Citylink vehicles, with options for up to 60 more. With the latest order, UTA has ordered 40 total vehicles.
Sistemas Cognitivoas SA (SISCOG) has expanded its presence in Scandinavia by adding Sweden's Arlanda Express to its client base. Arlanda Express is a passenger-rail service connecting Stockholm Central Station and the Stockholm Arlanda Airport. SISCOG will streamline the railroad's operations with integrated end-to-end solutions spanning timetables, vehicles and staff planning and management. "We are very happy to be supporting Arlanda in their continued success through enhanced process automation and efficiency," said SISCOG officials.
ZTR has partnered with Rowe Hankins Ltd. to expand ZTR's advanced control systems and smart technologies to rail operators across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The partnership is a step in ZTR's global growth strategy, ZTR officials said in a press release. Rowe Hankins will provide customers access to ZTR's full product portfolio, including SmartStart automatic engineer stop-start systems, KickStart starting assist supercapacitor technology, NexSys locomotive control systems, and Vision telematics platforms. Rowe Hankins will also handle local service, installation and technical support for ZTR products.
