OmniTRAX extends 'rail-ready' program to Sand Springs Railway

OmniTRAX Inc. has extended its Rail-Ready Sites program to the Sand Springs Railway (SS) in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
OmniTRAX and Sand Springs city officials will initially market two rail-served sites on the SS totaling about 25 acres. With direct connections to Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway Co., the short line operates a 32-mile route between Sand Springs and Tulsa, and provides regional rail services with direct rail, transloading, bulk transfer-distribution and inventory management services.
The Sand Springs and Tulsa County region are top-rated locations for companies in the steel, advanced manufacturing and energy related industries, OmniTRAX officials said in a press release.
“Sand Springs is a well-connected transportation hub with a very stable workforce and local government, plus rising demographics. The Rail-Ready Sites program will certainly help attract a new corporate partner to Sand Springs that relies on rail service,” said Sand Springs Mayor Jim Spoon.
