Iowa Pacific Holdings LLC yesterday announced a private transaction in which it divested its equity interest in Andean Railways Corp. S.A.C., a Peruvian entity active in passenger-rail operations and rolling stock ownership."We were pleased to assist in the founding of Andean Railways Corp., and participate in the opening of a new passenger rail operator in Peru," said Iowa Pacific President Ed Ellis in a prepared statement.
Iowa Pacific operates nine U.S. short lines and, through an affiliate, operates three railways in the United Kingdom. It also is a partner in Holdtrade Atlantico S.A., which is planning freight operations in Colombia.
