Just 14 months after opening its 7.5-mile light-rail system, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas’s (METRO) ridership exceeded the 1 million mark.
Last month, the agency carried an average of 32,803 weekday passengers — a 76 percent increase compared with March 2004 and the highest ridership of any individual METRO-operated route, according to a prepared statement.
