BNSF Railway Co. recently honored three diverse business enterprise (DBE) suppliers with annual DBE awards. The Class I presented the Distinguished Supplier Award to EMR Inc., Regional Supplier Award to Beacon Systems and Newcomer of the Year Award to MDI Group.

A Native American woman-owned and federally certified small company, EMR has served as a BNSF supplier for more than 20 years. The company provides emergency response, waste management, environmental, demolition, construction management and design/build services to the railroad.

Beacon is a Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)-certified company that provides information technology staffing service to the Class I. The company became a BNSF supplier this year.

A woman-owned, WBENC-certified company, MDI Group began working with BNSF earlier this year as a managed services provider for contract labor.
