The Port Authority of Allegheny County recently hired Peter Behrman as assistant general manager of service planning and development.

He most recently served as director of transportation at Las Vegas’ Veolia Transportation, where he managed 1,000 employees and a $60 million operating budget.

The Pennsylvania native also has held positions as director of the City of Albuquerque Transit Department in Albuquerque, N.M.; general manager of Laredo Metro in Laredo, Texas; director of operations for Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission in Woodbridge, Va.; chief of bus operations and planning at the Fairfax County Office of Transportation in Fairfax, Va.; and general manger of Laidlaw Transit Inc. in Van Nuys, Calif.
