UP's PRB coal train loadings lagged a bit in January



 

Last month, Union Pacific Railroad loaded 1,022 coal trains in the Southern Powder River Basin compared with 1,056 trains in January 2011. The Class I met 104 percent of National Coal Transportation Association (NCTA) demand in the region, UP officials said in a weekly coal loading performance report.

In the Colorado/Utah Region, the railroad loaded 232 coal trains versus 230 trains in January 2011. The Class I met 109 percent of NCTA demand in the region, UP officials said.
