Sidman becomes Anacostia Rail Holdings' first general counsel

Anacostia Rail Holdings Inc. recently appointed Mark Sidman to the newly created position of general counsel.

He will be responsible for legal guidance, regulatory matters, transaction negotiations and related matters for Anacostia and its six railroad subsidiaries: the Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad, Gulf Coast Switching Co., Louisville & Indiana Railroad, New York & Atlantic Railway, Northern Lines Railway L.L.C. and Pacific Harbor Line Inc.

Sidman has provided legal assistance to transportation and rail industry clients for more than 30 years. He previously was a partner, founder and transportation practice leader at Washington, D.C. law firm Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider P.C., where he represented Anacostia and many other short lines, trade associations and transportation-related businesses.

Sidman also previously was a special assistant to the executive vice president of the United States Railway Association.
