Chicago Transit Authority recently added a general counsel and inspector general to its management ranks.
The authority named Darka Papushkewych general counsel of law, claims, real estate and workers’ compensation. She will manage and direct the authority’s General Attorney Division’s contracts and agreements, provide counsel with the chairman, and meet with state and local officials to discuss legislation affecting CTA. Papushkewych previously served as chief labor negotiator for the city of Chicago’s Department of Law.
CTA also named Alison Ryan Perona inspector general. She will help promote CTA’s programs and operations administration; receive and register complaints and information concerning waste, fraud and abuse within the authority; investigate and audit the conduct and performance of CTA officers, employees, agents and contractors; and report the results of investigations and audits to the board. Perona previously served as assistant state attorney in the Cook County State Attorney’s Office.
