Yesterday, CSX Corp. announced it promoted David Baggs from assistant vice president-treasury and investor relations to VP of capital markets and investor relations.
He will be responsible for directing the Class I's interaction with the investment community through earnings reports, analyst meetings, conferences and other channels, and overseeing banking relationships and capital market activities.
Baggs has served CSX the past 25 years in various finance, economic analysis, corporate strategy, treasury and investor relation positions.
Meanwhile, OmniTRAX Inc. named Brad Chase president of OmniTRAX Canada Inc. He will be based at OmniTRAX Canada’s Winnipeg, Manitoboa, office and oversee the Port of Churchill, Hudson Bay Railway Co., Carlton Trail Railway and Kettle Falls International Railway, which connects British Columbia to the United States.
Chase most recently was senior vice president of Kleysen Group L.P., which arranges rail and truck transportation services for various commodities moving throughout Canada and the United States. He joined Kleysen Group in 2001 to lead its intermodal unit.
Finally, Rio Grande Pacific Corp. recently promoted Mirl Bergeron to general manager of the New Orleans and Gulf Coast Railway Co. (NOGC).
He has served NOGC the past nine years and has more than 35 years of rail operations experience. Bergeron previously served the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad Co. in various capacities for seven years and Southern Pacific Railway in various roles — including director of fleet operations — for 23 years.
