He most recently was president and chief executive officer of Dannenbaum Engineering Corp. Waterworth previously held various executive leadership positions in the private and public sectors, including a stint as district engineer and commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District in Galveston, Texas.
The authority has contracted Boyden World Corp. to identify candidates for a permanent executive director.
The Port of Houston is served by BNSF Railway Co., Kansas City Southern and Union Pacific Railroad; switching services are provided by the Port Terminal Railroad.
