The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) is seeking beta testers for its newly released Trip2GO mobile app, according to the agency's blog.Developed in partnership with the California Department of Transportation and the University of California-Berkley, the new app allows riders to compare the travel time, cost and environmental impact associated with various modes of transportation, including transit, driving or a combination of both. Environmental impact is measured in the amount of carbon dioxide emitted during a rider's trip. The app also gives updates on current traffic conditions, driving directions, park and ride options, and real-time arrival and departure information for buses and trains throughout the L.A. region.
