The Las Vegas Railway Express Inc. (X Train) has named Carpenter Sells Del Gatto Architects (CSD) as the chief architectural design firm for the X Train’s Las Vegas terminal facility, as well as for the interior design concepts for passenger cars.
The firm has experience in designing in desert environments and is known for its emphasis on sustainable designs, X Train officials said in a prepared statement. CSD is a national member of the U.S. Green Building Council and has multiple projects that have achieved LEED gold and silver certification.
The firm has been designing Las Vegas Valley projects for more than 25 years.
Las Vegas Railway Express officials have been developing a plan to reestablish passenger-rail service between Las Vegas and Los Angeles since early 2009. The planned service is targeted to start in late 2013.
