GO Transit to add service on Lakeshore lines
advertisement
A belated holiday gift for GO Transit riders: Beginning Jan. 5, the agency will add one new weekday afternoon trip on the Lakeshore West line and one on the Lakeshore East line.
A new westbound train will leave Toronto's Union Station at 3:15 p.m. each weekday, providing express service to Clarkson Station and making all stops to Burlington. A new eastbound train will leave Union Station at 5:10 p.m., providing express service to Pickering Station and making all stops to Oshawa.
In addition, the 7:58 a.m. weekday eastbound train from Oakville Station to Union Station will originate in Aldershot, departing at 7:32 a.m.
The service improvements will help relieve crowding and accommodate growing ridership, GO Transit said. The agency could add the trains because of recent track upgrades on the lines.
