Yesterday, California’s Capitol Corridor reported that June ridership of 140,941 trips increased 7 percent compared with June 2009 and exceeded business plan projections by 13 percent. In addition, June revenue rose 11.5 percent.
The Pacific Surfliners line posted a 1.4 percent ridership increase at 209,810 trips and the San Joaquins line registered a 9.4 percent jump to 88,638 trips.
Ridership rose despite three Friday furlough days per month that all state employees must take, Capitol Corridor officials noted in a prepared statement.
