Three California agencies endorse high-speed rail measure on November ballot

Earlier this month, the board of directors for the San Mateo County Transit District, San Mateo County Transportation Authority and Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, which operates Caltrain, unanimously endorsed Proposition 1A. The $9.95 billion bond measure will appear on California's November ballot to finance an 800-mile, statewide high-speed rail system.

"It is in the best interest of San Mateo County and Caltrain that the high-speed rail project proceeds and includes the Caltrain right of way as an integral part of it," said Ian McAvoy, who serves as the three agencies' chief development officer, in a prepared statement.
