The Port of Albany in New York has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified vendors for a $10.4 million project to upgrade rail and wharf infrastructure.
Proposals are due Oct. 10.
The project calls for replacing 930 linear feet of on-dock rail, as well as strengthening 1160 linear feet of the surrounding wharf deck infrastructure.
A contract will be awarded to the "most responsible and respondent vendor" that provides the lowest bid, port officials said in a press release. Specifications, engineering reports and bid forms can be found on the port’s procurement webpage.
The project is expected to cost $10,442,703, according to project documents issued by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYDOT). NYDOT will provide a grant of $9,907,703 to the Port of Albany to cover project costs, with the remaining amount to be covered by the port.
The Albany Port Railroad Corp. provides switching and on-dock rail services to customers at the port.
