advertisement
Yesterday, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a Record of Decision for the DesertXpress high-speed rail project, which will link Victorville, Calif., and Las Vegas. The decision is the final step of the environmental review process, enabling the project to continue to advance to the engineering phase.
The project is being developed by a group of private Nevada and California companies. The DesertXpress would run along nearly 200 miles of new, exclusive double-track right of way, largely following the Interstate 15 corridor.
