For the third consecutive year, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The CCTA provides funding for agencies throughout the Contra Costa County, Calif., region, including San Francisco's Bay Area Transportation Authority.

The award was issued after a review of CCTA's annual financial report for fiscal-year 2014.

An objective panel found the document both readable and in the "spirit of full disclosure," CCTA officials said in a press release.

CCTA officials further said the award falls in line with the agency's commitment to skillful use of taxpayer dollars, including capping administrative costs to 1 percent.
