STB names Campbell regulatory reform officer

Surface Transportation Board (STB) Acting Chairman Ann Begeman announced this week that Rachel Campbell, director of the Office of Proceedings, has been designated the agency's regulatory reform officer.

Campbell will lead the STB's efforts to identify rules and practices that are burdensome, unnecessary or outdated, and recommend how they should be modified, STB officials said in a press release.

The appointment of an STB regulatory reform officer meets the spirit of President Donald Trump's executive order on reducing regulation and controlling regulatory costs, as well as with the agency's regulatory and process review initiatives, Begeman said.

“Director Campbell’s designation as our regulatory reform officer will help further the board’s goal of making the agency more accountable to both our stakeholders and the public,” she said.
