Evergreen Shipping Agency (America) Corp. announced it has named CN its 2014 Railroad Company of the Year.The Class I was recognized for its "consistent high level of performance," according to Roy Amalfitano, president of Evergreen Shipping, in a press release. The global ocean carrier serves as the North American general agency for Evergreen Line, the major containerized shipping company serving Asia's east coast and North America's west coast.Evergreen Line discharges and loads containers for CN at Port Metro Vancouver. CN hauls Evergreen Line traffic between the port and major markets in North America, including Toronto, Montreal, Chicago and Detroit.Evergreen's award recognizes CN's "clear focus on supply chain collaboration and making our mutual customers more competitive in their end markets," said CN Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer JJ Ruest.
