The hearing follows up on the first committee hearing of the 112th Congress, which Mica held at New York City's Grand Central Terminal on Jan. 27, 2011, to focus on the potential for high-speed rail in the NEC.
"The corridor represents the best opportunity for true high-speed rail in the United States," Mica said in a press release.
Among those scheduled to speak at tomorrow's hearing is Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Boardman, Federal Railroad Administration Deputy Administrator Karen Hedlund, NEC Infrastructure and Operations Advisory Chair Joan McDonald, American Enterprise Institute scholar Richard Geddes, Morgan Stanley Managing Director Perry Offutt, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Vice President John Tolman.
Mica has favored turning over the NEC to a private operator.
