Las Vegas Railway Express elects Marino to board
Las Vegas Railway Express Inc. (X Train) has elected John Marino as a board director.
Marino is president of Transportation Management Services Inc., a position he has held since 1983. He also serves as vice president of strategic planning for Patriot Rail Corp. From April 1992 to July 1996, he served as president and chief operating officer of RailAmerica Inc.
Marino also cofounded the Huron & Eastern Railway Co. Inc., a RailAmerica subsidiary, and served as the short line’s president and director.
Marino has been “instrumental in the development and planning of our project from its inception and brings great entrepreneurial experience to our board,” said X Train President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Barron.
Las Vegas Railway Express has been planning the X Train — a Los Angeles-to-Las Vegas passenger-rail service — since 2009.
