Joffrion to head Tennessee DOT's rail office

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) recently named Liza Joffrion director of multi-modal transportation resources, effective today. She will oversee the Office of Passenger Transportation and Office of Rail and Waterway Freight Transportation.

Most recently a principal and president of transportation planning and public policy firm MultiModal Research L.L.C., Joffrion has 17 years of experience in land use, transportation planning, public policy and finance. She previously held various urban transportation planning posts at firms in Seattle.

“[Joffrion’s] extensive knowledge and experience working with rail, transit, ports, ferries and urban freight issues will be an incredible asset to TDOT,” said TDOT Commissioner John Schroer in a prepared statement.
