New York municipality mulls downtown intermodal center

The city of Rochester, N.Y., recently contracted Bergmann Associates P.C. to perform a study for a new downtown intermodal center.

The study will analyze potential locations and designs for the facility, which would accommodate train passengers and provide access to other transportation modes, including pedestrian ways, cars and buses.

The study will be conducted in conjunction with the Federal Railroad Administration and New York State Department of Transportation.
